Intraoral scanning for a digital impression

Intraoral scanning, the digital impression, makes it possible to create a 3D image of the teeth which then serves as the base model for prosthetic restorations such as crowns, bridges or implants. This technique replaces the more time-consuming conventional impression process. The data obtained can be viewed directly on screen and corrected just in time. Advantages for patients: greater comfort during the impression, fewer repeat appointments, shorter treatment times and better-fitting restorations. The digital impression is used for single-tooth restorations such as crowns, for bridges, inlays and onlays, veneers and implant abutments.
