Dental knowledge: ceramic inlays or composites
High-quality ceramic inlays and composites deliver excellent results.
Fillings have to be highly stable, long-lasting, well tolerated by the body and aesthetically executed. Ceramic filling materials and modern composites meet these requirements. Amalgam fillings last just as well as ceramic inlays or composites, but are less advisable because of their mercury content.
Ceramic inlays are the right choice where a natural appearance and long durability are wanted. Ceramic solutions should not differ from natural teeth in shape or colour. The material offers extremely high stability under chewing loads.
Composites (resin materials) prove to be valuable and versatile materials in practice. They are used for smaller defects in the anterior and posterior regions.
